Therma-Tru Windows & Doors in Miami, FL | Winslow Windows & Doors

We’re Winslow Windows & Doors, and we provide independent Therma-Tru service across Miami, from Westchester to the Upper East Side. The short version: we rebuild, rehang, and replace Therma-Tru entry systems, and what makes our work here different is that we treat every frame as if it’s sitting a mile from salt water, because in Miami, it usually is. If your Therma-Tru door slabs, sidelites, or frames need attention, call (850) 930-1813 and you’ll get Ed Winslow’s team, not a call center.

Call (850) 930-1813

Our techs have rebuilt Therma-Tru door slabs, replaced fiberglass skins, and rehung hundreds of entry systems across Miami’s CBS and high-rise stock, so we know which Therma-Tru lines hold up to salt air and HVHZ wind loads, and which need early intervention. There’s a real difference between a parts changer and somebody who understands why a door fails at the bottom rail in this climate. We’re the latter. For Therma-Tru sales & service, we carry the experience, the parts access, and the local know-how to get it right.

Why Miami Residents Choose Us for Therma-Tru Service

Ed Winslow grew up in the Sunset neighborhood of South Miami, close enough to Dante Fascell Park that he spent more afternoons there than he probably should have. He learned the trade because his own family’s house took a beating from a storm and nobody could give them a straight answer, so he decided somebody in this town should be able to. That’s been the operating principle since 2011.

We’re not a manufacturer outlet, and we don’t pretend to be. Winslow is an independent Therma-Tru service provider serving Miami and the surrounding towns. That independence means we tell you what the door actually needs, not what a factory program pushes. When structural components fail, hinges, thresholds, multi-point locks, we use OEM Therma-Tru parts to preserve fit and Miami-Dade NOA compliance. For non-structural wear items like sweeps and weatherstripping, we install premium aftermarket replacements that match or exceed spec. You get an honest call on which is which.

Ed’s name is on the door, and on every job we do. If the work isn’t right, neither is he. That’s not a slogan, it’s the Done Right Promise in plain words.

Common Therma-Tru Windows & Doors Problems We Solve in Miami

We see the same failures repeat across Miami’s neighborhoods because the climate doesn’t change much from Hialeah to Coral Gables. Here’s what’s coming through our phone lines:

  • Delamination at the bottom rail. Fiber-Classic and Smooth-Star doors take the worst of it. Salt-laden air off Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic gets behind the fiberglass skin, and the bottom rail is where moisture settles. Pressure washing makes it worse. We see this constantly within two miles of the water. The fix is usually a full slab replacement, not resin patching, because the water’s already inside the jamb.
  • Corroded hinge screws and threshold fasteners. Classic-Craft units near the bay get hinge screws that turn to dust from years of salt air. The door sags, binds at the top latch, and the threshold loosens. We pull the door, replace the fasteners and often the jamb leg itself, then rehang it square.
  • Warped or cracked door panels on west-facing exposures. Westchester and Hialeah get brutal afternoon sun. Hurricane-driven rain cycles expand the fiberglass face, then the sun bakes it back down. Over five or six seasons, the panel fatigues and cracks. A west-facing Therma-Tru is a different animal than one on a shaded Coral Gables terrace.
  • Failed compression weatherstripping on Pulse impact doors. Storm-driven debris abrades the seals. Once the compression weatherstripping fails, the door’s Miami-Dade NOA rating quietly goes with it. Most homeowners don’t know until an insurance inspector points it out. We check it on every service call.
  • Binding at the top latch in summer. Miami’s humidity swells the slab just enough that a door that closed fine in January starts catching in August. It’s rarely the hinges. It’s the frame shifting with moisture in a CBS wall. That’s a measurement and re-shim job, not a hinge adjustment.

Therma-Tru Service in Miami: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Miami sits entirely inside Florida’s High Velocity Hurricane Zone, one of only two US metro areas that can say that. Every Therma-Tru entry door we install here has to carry a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance, an NOA. That’s a product-approval standard so demanding that Therma-Tru manufactures a separate Pulse line specifically to meet it. In Broward County just north, some inland cities still fall outside the strictest HVHZ wind-borne debris regions, but Miami doesn’t get that pass. Not anywhere in the city.

Here’s the part that surprises people. The older neighborhoods of Hialeah and Westchester were built in the 1950s through the early 1980s with concrete block construction and jalousie windows sized to a rough-opening standard that doesn’t exist anymore. When we replace a Therma-Tru entry door on a jalousie-era CBS home, the original rough opening rarely matches the new NOA-rated unit. Almost always, the job requires custom buck framing to bridge the gap. That’s added labor and materials that out-of-town estimators consistently underbid. We don’t, because we’ve done it enough times to know it’s coming.

On a 1962 CBS rancher in Westchester, our tech found an original Therma-Tru Classic-Craft entry door with the bottom hinge screws corroded to dust from decades of salt air off the bay. We pulled the door, routed out the rotted jamb leg, installed a new solid PVC jamb insert, and hung a new Therma-Tru Pulse impact-rated slab with a Miami-Dade NOA number so the homeowner could finally get their wind mitigation insurance discount. That’s the job, start to finish.

Therma-Tru Models & Products We Service in Miami

We work on the full residential Therma-Tru lineup that matters in this market. The Classic-Craft collection, Mahogany, Oak, and Fir grain, is the flagship and takes the most abuse from salt air. The Fiber-Classic line covers Smooth-Star and Traditions, the slabs we see delaminate most often near the bay. The Pulse line is the impact-rated entry door built for Miami-Dade NOA compliance, and it’s the one we recommend most for full replacements. The Slim-Line frames and sidelites round out the system.

We stock common OEM hinge kits, threshold assemblies, and multi-point lock cartridges for faster Miami turnaround. Slabs are ordered per door size and finish, and we’ll walk you through grain matching if you’re replacing a Classic-Craft with an existing finish. No guesswork on the order sheet.

While we’re authorized installers for eight premium brands, including PGT and CGI, our Miami Window Installation work is independent. You get one straightforward recommendation: what’s best for your house, your exposure, and your insurance policy.

Therma-Tru Service Pricing in Miami

Here’s what we tell homeowners before we send a truck: a Therma-Tru service call in Miami typically runs from $125 for a straightforward weatherstripping and sweep replacement to $850 or more for a full slab replacement on an impact-rated Pulse unit. Hinge and threshold rebuilds usually fall between $225 and $475, and full entry system rehangs on CBS walls are quoted after we see the opening, because the jamb condition drives everything.

Service Typical Range
Service call, inspection, and adjustment $125 - $220
Weatherstripping and door sweep replacement $150 - $325
Hinge replacement and door rehang $225 - $475
Threshold replacement or rebuild $250 - $520
Pulse impact slab replacement with NOA $650 - $850+
Full entry system replacement with buck framing Quoted after site inspection

What you get with every estimate is a written line-item number, not a phone quote that changes when we pull up. And we never surprise anyone on the invoice. $40 off any repair over $200, and seniors and veterans get a permanent 10% discount, no expiration, no fine print. What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★

"The installation was clean and the windows are beautiful. The factory took about six weeks to deliver the units, which Ed told me upfront, but living behind plywood-framed openings in the meantime still tested my patience."

GGuadalupe Zamorano
★★★★★

"Our insurance agent asked for the wind mitigation paperwork and Ed had the whole file ready the day the job closed, every opening photographed. The premium conversation went very differently this year."

OOdessa Fairbanks
★★★★★

"We sat out a hurricane behind the windows Ed put in. The gusts threw a neighbour's trampoline down the street and the loudest thing in our house was the kettle. I rang him after to say thank you and he answered his own phone, same as always."

TThaddeus Okonkwo
★★★★★

"Three big companies quoted us and every one sent a salesman with a leased truck. Ed turned up in a truck with his own name on the door, quoted less, and his crew were the same faces on day one and day nine."

YYolanda Betancourt
★★★★★

"A tile roof repair and new windows from the same company meant one crew, one permit runner, and nobody blaming the other trade. Ed checked the roof work himself before the tarp came off."
